I'm having question of how to use API call to start a work item which is linked with a program such as fmcsiyes application? The example that I'm working on is that a program activity is linked up with a program fmcsiyes which will starts up manually and exit automatically if "yes" is being hit. I have already query the process template and starts such instance already. In the runtime client, I usually only double click which the workitem will come up in a Ready state. Then I'll just start such work item and a message box with yes or no will be avaiable. However, I can check and see that my work item is in a ready state but when I try to just say workitem.start, it'll be in an error state. I don't know if I'm calling wrong API's to start the work item ? Anyone has any hint to what I should do? Thanks in advance.

If the item is in the "In Error" state, then most likely the program can not be located. Check your path variable to make sure that the directory containing your executable is in the path
