On one of our Windows servers, we have messages coming out quite often in the application log that seem to be referencing a former queue manager that used to be in the cluster, but no longer exists. The messages look like the following:
Quote: |
Channel 'QMGR.1' not found.
The requested operation failed because the program could not find a definition of channel 'QMGR.1'.
Check that the name is specified correctly and the channel definition is available.
|
It is true that this channel does not exist, but I can't find what is referencing it. Any thoughts? _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist

Was the qmgr properly removed from the cluster?

Unsure, because it was before my time here. Any suggestions on what or where to look for the culprit? _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist

Look for messages on S.C.T.Q.
Look for similar errors on other machines, to find if this is a result of someone trying to talk TO this machine, rather than something trying to talk FROM this machine. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

I don't see anything on the S.C.T.Q. of this or any other box that might be talking to it. There is one thing that might be a clue, though. When I expand the queue display on the MQ Explorer (btw, we are stuck on version 5.3), on this machine I get the following pop-up message:
Quote: |
The repository queue manager for cluster 'XYZ.CLUSTER' is not available for connection. Views showing cluster queues in this cluster may be incomplete. (AMQ4515) |
This appears to be a remnant stuck in the cluster configuration somewhere. Is there any manual way of getting to this? _________________ IBM Certified MQSeries Specialist

Grab the cluster manual, get a runmqsc session going on one of the full repository QMs and eject this Windows QM from the cluster for good. _________________ Peter Potkay
