Is there any way to group the queue managers displayed in the Explorer navigation pane?

Reason: multiple QMs with the same name in different environments (DEV, TST, SIT, UAT, PRE, PRD)

So instead of a set of QMs with the same name only distinguishable by the IP or DNS name, I could organise them by environment ...

There isn't a way, that I know of.

You can, of course, run more than one copy, one for each environment.

It's not clear that you shouldn't do this, at least for production, anyway. Among other things, this lets you keep the security domains separate for production than test and etc.

Yes, something like the QM Group offered by MO71 is exactly what's wanted.

However, the customer is using MQ Explorer in conjunction with the IS02 Broker plugin, and AFAIK MO71 won't do the broker stuff that the IS02 plugin for MQ Explorer does.

Otherwise MO71 would make good sense.

If it is a Customer asking, things like this are great to put in as a requirement on MQ. If you get the customer (or yourself) to raise a requirement then there is much more chance of getting useful function in the future.

Of course raising a requirement doesn't guarantee that it will ever happen, but there is more chance if you raise one
