Hi All,
I've had an EDIFACT message set (V5) in our dev, test and prod systems for a few years now and have recently migrated the dev and test systems to V6. After migrating to V6 I noticed that we were not catering for a segment in the input message (there is a DTM segment after the BGM segment and this wasn't being catered for in the message set). This was causing the WMB6 message flow to throw an exception. The exact same flow and message set was being used for over a year in V5 and the exception was not being thrown. It seems that the message flow was just disregarding the DTM section and carrying on with the rest of the message.
Does anyone know if there's someway of turning off this validation? I'm under pressure to migrate the prod system to V6, but we have a lot of tag delimited message sets, which would mean months of work finding missing tags in message sets. I would like to be able to just get V6 to behave like V5 when extra tags are present in the input messages.
The method of migration was to simply open the message sets and flows in the V6 Toolkit and save then rebuild everything. I have the latest patches installed for the toolkit and broker.
Thanks in advance. |

Quite a lot of defects were fixed in v6, and as a result there are some known changes of behaviour when migrating TDS message sets from v5 to v6. See http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ah20250_.htm
I don't think I can advise you without full details of your input message, message set and error message. I suggest that you raise a PMR and reference this post ( that way, it will get routed straight to Level 3 and you may get a faster response ). |

Thanks for the response kimbert. I think I'd be more comfortable fixing up the message sets. It's a big job, but they're old and were done in a hurry when we didn't know much about message sets (hence the missing segments). I'll just treat it as an early spring clean |

Good answer
As a reward, you can expect a 2x reduction in the CPU cost of message parsing. |
