I installed MQ 6.0 on SuSE Linux 10, and also installed MQSeriesIES30-6.0.0-0.i386.rpm and MQSeriesConfig-6.0.0-0.i386.rpm for the MQ explorer.
After I created a Qmgr by command line, I was trying to run the MQ explorer with "strmqcfg -d" and directed the display to the X server on a windows machine. But I only see the splash picture of the MQ Explorer showing up on the X Windows, did not see the Explorer console coming out.
Below is the backgroud process that running.
mqm 5290 1 0 01:08 pts/1 00:00:00 /opt/mqm/ies30/eclipse/./eclipse -showsplash 600 /opt/mqm/ies30/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.mq.explorer.branding_6.0.0/splash.bmp
The Qmgr and listener already started. (see processes)
mqm 3361 1 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 amqzxma0 -m QM2
mqm 3366 3361 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 /opt/mqm/bin/amqzfuma -m QM2
mqm 3367 3361 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 amqzmuc0 -m QM2
mqm 3374 3361 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 amqzmur0 -m QM2

mqm 3376 3361 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 /opt/mqm/bin/amqzdmaa -m QM2
mqm 3382 3361 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 /opt/mqm/bin/amqzmgr0 -m QM2
mqm 3391 3361 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 amqzlaa0 -mQM2 -fip0
mqm 3394 3382 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 /opt/mqm/bin/runmqchi -m QM2 -r
mqm 3395 3382 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 /opt/mqm/bin/amqpcsea QM2
mqm 3494 1 0 Dec05 ? 00:00:00 runmqlsr -m QM2 -t TCP
This is my first time to run an Explorer under Linux, can anyone help me?

The DISPLAY variable likely didn't get passed through from strmqcfg to runmqcfg, which launches eclipse.
If you bring up the full desktop in your remote X serv, it should work. Or you can look at what's needed to edit runmqcfg to honor/pass the DISPLAY. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

jefflowrey,
yes, you are right, in my "/opt/mqm/bin/runmqcfg" file
AMQ_EXPLORER="./eclipse"
So after I changed it to the following, it works!
AMQ_EXPLORER="/opt/mqm/ies30/eclipse/eclipse"
thank you very much! |
