Hi Guys,
I am on MB 6.0 fixpak 2
My broker is on Unix box and toolkit on Windows.
I upgraded my toolkit. I dont see the SOAPEnvelope and SOAPExtract nodes in my toolkit. Cant we get these nodes just by upgrading the toolkit???.
Suggestions please..
Thanks. |

Nope, it comes in a support pac - ia9o
Here is the link:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24014070
Also you need to have a Broker runtime at 6.0.0.3 or above. _________________ ------------------------------------------

Not sure what you mean by ' ...upgrading the Toolkit'. You need to follow the instructions in the Installation Guide that describe installation using RUP. Is this what you did? The nodes will then appear in the 'Web Services' drawer of the Palette. |

Hi Tony,
I mean:
In the MB Toolkit, going to the Help tab->Software Updates->IBM Rational Product Updater |

Chris,
I sent my reply before sknrt1's reply arrived ... as he (she?) says, the SOAP nodes are installed separately from a supportpac. You must download it and then use RUP, as described in Section 5.2 of the Installation Guide, to install the SOAP nodes as an 'optiomal feature'. |

It is better to go ahead and shutdown the toolkit and run RUP from the Start list since you will be asked to shutdown the toolkit in any case.
Note that the use of RUP goes away with V6.1 (and any RAD V7 based tooling) - there the Toolkit updates are handled by the Installation Manager.
I wexpect the same requirement will exist - shutdown the toolkit first. Its rather difficult to replace code while it is in use.
While on the V6.1 subject - these nodes are built in. When using the new SOAPInput node you can still use the SOAPExtract node. However, the SOAPReply is a bit smarter (since only SOAP msgs are allowed) and it can add the SOAP Envelope automatically, should you not have a reason to build it yourself. _________________ Bill Matthews |
