Hi, i have just installed MQ 5.3 CSD 11 in AIX. I algo created the filesytems /var/mqm, /var/mqm/errors, /var/mqm/log and y granted permission to mqm.
My problem is that when y try to create a qmgr with the default parameters y get the following error:
$ crtmqm TEST
AMQ8101: WebSphere MQ error (893) has occurred.
i couldn´t find anything more specifi in the errors log.
Can anyone help me with this problem?
Thanks in advance.
P:S sorry for my english, its not my native language |

Look for logs and FDC files in the level above the qmgr folders.
Also consider not installing an obsolete version of the software. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

This message doesn't help because the information is the the generated output file (the FDC) that accompanies this message. It's this file that IBM support would look at. If v5.3.12 was still supported.
And if all you want is another server that works with an existing v5.3 server then v6 works fine. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Vitor, thanks for your answers. I work in IBM, I do the support, but in this case i need a hand, thats why i made this post. I know I can open a PMR, but the LAB take a lot of time to answer. |
I suppose it's a left handed complement that IBM support is now asking the board for help, and if anyone can get help for an out-of-support product it would be you.
Problem resolution still starts with the FDC file and the probe id therein. If I had to guess, I'd guess that the pre-reqs & kernel parameters on the target box were wrong but that's just a guess. The information you need is in the FDC.
I still also claim you're better off with v6 than v5.3 _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I am not sure, because I didnt do the installations. but I realized that something wan not good because the FS /var/mqm was not complete. |

Is this the order that you did those things? Because if it is, you will have mounted your /var/mqm filesystem over the /var/mqm directory that was initialised during the installation. You could try running ( as root) amqicdir which is the program that is used to initilaise the /var/mqm directory structure. _________________ Philip Morten
