Hi,

I have a JText adapter used for handling outbound messages on a Windows box that is FTP'ing via a VPN tunnel to an aix box. The file is setup to apend. The issue is that if I receive the following error message due to an FTP issue, the file it was trying to abend to is deleted...

<Description>**** ERROR : Exception in FTPWrapper::setDirFileTypePort():: [Type: Error] [MsgID: 110016] [Mesg: **** ERROR :: Unable to access the directory &apos;/SOME/DIRECTORY&apos;. Please Check its access previledges.] A failure has happened in the callback function.</Description><status>-1</status><PrivacyLevel>None</PrivacyLevel><WSDLBinding>SOME_BINDING</WSDLBinding><Status>-1</Status><resubmitTo>SOME_QUEUE</resubmitTo><description>A failure has happened in the callback function.</description><WSDLOperation>SOME_OPERATION</WSDLOperation><keys> KEY=SOMETHING</keys><MessageType>SOME_MESSAGE_TYPE</MessageType>

So, if this occurs on the 1st message, no problem, just reprocess it and eveyrthing is happy. But if this is the 2nd message that failed, that means the data that was put out there in the 1st message is wiped out. So, if error occurs on the 3rd message, the first two messages of data that was placed out there is gone.... so on and so on.

I was curious if anyone had this issue before or some suggestions to try.

Thanks so much for your time.

What version of JText adapter are you using? 5.6.5 is the latest fixpack available and a lot of FTP issues have been fixed in this. If you are not at 5.6.5, upgrade to the latest version and see if the issue still persists.

How are you doing this? Are you using a dynamic child MO? Through a dynamic child, it is possible to inform the adapter to append to the file rather than overwriting the existing file. Check the FileWriteMode property in the dynamic child MO.

VK.

Hi, I just found out that it was version 5.6.3 IF3. So, we are way behind the 5.6.5. We will be upgrading and hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Yes, I'm using a dynamic child MO for the file write method of a for apend.
