Is there any concern connecting an
AIX 5.3 QM Version 5.3 CSD 13 with AIX Version 6.0.2.0
and
z/OS Version 5.3.1 with AIX Version 6.0.2.0
using SSL?
Where can I find an official statement connection these OM's using SSL works ? _________________ Jochen Benke

Why do you think it doesn't? Why do you think there might be a concern?
Why does the official statement on interoperability between v5.3 and v6 (which I accept does not explicitly reference SSL AFAIK) not cover your needs?
(Note that the v6 Migration guide does have explicit instructions on moving from v5.3 to v6) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I think it works, but a customer ask me to verify this. I goggled threw the ibm pages and found anything about.
Where can i find these official statement of interoperability? _________________ Jochen Benke

No, you're right and I'm wrong. The v6 docs say what v5.3 features are not supported in the new version, but don't explictly say anywhere that v5.3 is compatible with v6.
I think percieved wisdom is that they are (God help me I've got v5.1 queue managers connected to v6.0!! ) but you're right, I can't find it explicitly stated anywhere that it works.
Perhaps a passing IBMer can provide a link? It's not actually a question any customer's asked me..... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You should migrate (which will leave you with a 32 bit QMGR) to 6.0 before you implement SSL on that 5.3 QMGR.
If SSL is already on it, then you will need follow the detailed SSL migration instructions... I have not tried this, but I guess you could also just recreate the keyring with the cert from your CA.
If you didn't want the 32 bit QMGR that a migration will leave you with, then you will need to recreate the QMGR. Be sure to save everything (SAVEQMGR) and don't put the 5.3 SYSTEM objects on 6.0. Make sure the QMGR is removed from *all* clusters before you recreate it. _________________ Joseph
