I would like to announce 3 items, hopefully you’ll like them:

- We have extended the Smilies set available for your postings, log in to the site to have a test drive. We could have put more there, but decided to keep a manageable set and see how things work out.

- We have been looking to present more granularities for Rankings that are currently based on the number of posts. By now a good few of you should have noticed most of the new Rankings. I consulted with a group of our moderators to bounce ideas off of and what you see is a collective set that we have come up with. The credit is theirs if you do like or at least do not mind the new rankings. Blame me if you do not fancy them. Remember that more postings will sooner, not later, get you to the next ranking that you may like better.

- I have been discussing with the moderators about introducing a ‘ Challenge Forum ‘. Exact details are being worked out for a roll out in the near future. The general idea is that on a regular every few weeks or perhaps monthly basis an interesting question / call for papers / write a sample code Challenge would be made. At the end of the allocated time period, a panel of judges / moderators or possibly the entire membership would vote to select a winner. Moderators / Judges / Members would determine the criteria for the best and/or simplest and/or most unique and interesting answer, workaround, paper, sample code … for the given challenge. There will be some awards such as logo-ed MQSeries.net Mugs and/or T-shirts that would be shipped to the winner’s address + an Honorary site Ranking especially reserved for them.

Excuse the posting here instead of the General Forums Information, I just thought it was needed to bring to everyone's attention quicker.

Aren't 'Chevalier' and 'Knight' not the same thing?

Not strictly AFAIK

And I'm sure suggestions for alternatives would be entertained.

At a minimum, one is French and the other English.

I've just re-read my own question, which grammatically was awful!

How about 'Squire' and 'Knight', being that one leads to another?

I was wondering when, eventually, would someone ask that question:

Yatiri are medical practitioners and community healers among the Aymara of Bolivia, Chile and Peru.

It's a plot because we fear the competition and your immense intellect.

Well I do....

(Remembering of course The Grand Poobah's most wise signature.... )
