Hello, all,
I'd like to know about how I can design the number of additional instances of a message flow.
Does anybody have an experience on it?
In my experience, I know that one of the effective design to get the best performane is multiple execution groups(EGs). Also I know that the number of EGs we can configure depends on the number of CPUs. For example, if a box has two CPUs, two EGs can be a good design.
But how about the relationship between the number of CPUs and additional message flow instances (multi-threaded flows)?
Is it the same as EGs?
I know it really depends on the environment including message flow design, but are there best practices or general ideas on that?
Any comments are welcome.
Many thanks in advance,
Regards, |

Most mult-processor architectures/OSes don't let you share threads across processors. Just, um, procceses.
So there's no real connection between CPUs and instances. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Other important aspect, if you add the additional instances then you should check the database connection as well. _________________ IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere MQ V6.0
