I´ve got the same issue but with a sender channel.
Its status is "stopping" and I´m not able to bring it down.
Another thing that I don´t understand is that the channel status is "stopping" and the MCA status is "Running". Could anyone explain to me what might be happening? (In an easy way for me to understand - I´m a newbie)
Thanks. |

What's the status on the other side? What's the status of the network connection?

Not even if you force it?

The channel's been signalled to stop but the MCA is still trying to perform work, hence running. It sounds like the channel's disconnect intervals are odd and/or the MCA's in trouble.
And don't reopen 4 year old posts. If you have the same issue because you have the same level of software as the original problem then I think I've found the issue....... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

What if anything do the MQ Error logs say on both the sending and receiving sides? _________________ Peter Potkay

1) Inactive
2) Normal I´d guess
3) Get message Stop request accepted or something like this and it stays "stopping" anyway. |

There are NO error logs on both sides.
Ok I forced it with option "Allow process/thread termination" and it worked. Just one thing: when I checked only the option "force interruption of current message batch" it didn´t work.
With this process/thread termination is there any chance I can lose non persistent messages? |

whenever you have to interrupt a channel like this, there's a chance you'll lose non-persistent messages. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Terminating the thread is just that one channel, which you want to end anyway. Its the terminating process part that worries me. The process here is amqrmppa, which manages up to 64 channels/threads. If that gets killed I suppose up to 63 other channels could get whacked.
I remember I had a problem like this a few years ago at an older CSD level of MQ 5.3 on Windows QMs. The only way out was to terminate the channels. I assume you know that MQ 5.3 is no longer a supported version. I hope at least that you are at the latest version of 5.3, CSD13. _________________ Peter Potkay
