Hi

We are planning to move MQ code(binaries and libraries) to SAN.

Will we have any issues in this?

I have already talked abt this to IBM. They say that they strongly recommend it to be on local disk because MQ does some forced writes which will be a problem when moved on SAN bcos of caching.

Has anyone done these on MQ? ie Moving it to SAN

When configuring MQ to run under a Microsoft Cluster Services hardware cluster we install the MQSeries software on the local disk on both servers.

We build the QM and them the QM and its files are moved to drive that is hosted on the SAN. That drive and QM can then run from one or the other server.

The executables should be on local disk, but the QM files can be on SAN. There is a chapter in the MQ Sys Admin Guide on how to use MQ with MSCS and this is how IBM tells you to do it.
