Hi every one, I need your help in the below task..
We have two existing MQ Servers like App1, App2 in Production Environment. Now we have to create two New MQ Servers like App4 and App5 which are of high configuration then the existing ones. I need to remove the existing ones and keep the new servers with out any data loss and any other issues in Production.
I would like to know the procedure need to be done after the MQ Server Installation on new machines.
Like how to copy all the MQ objects from the existing MQ Server Machine to the new server.
How do we connect the MQ with the Application running in new server.
How to and where to change the IP Address and other configurations..
How to implement the alerting mechanism.
How to provide keep the new servers in production with out any data loss.. I need know how to ensure that there wont be any data loss.
I appreciate if anyone of you can give a good approach for this and good information about all my queries. Thanks in Advance. _________________ Krishna |

Check out support pack ms03 and read the intercommunications manual.
Everything should be explained there...

It's a question with a multitude of answers. You learn to take a deep breath and let it wash over you. After a while, the layers and layers of questions form a hard, shiny layer and you become a glittering pearl of WMQ wisdom and experience.

It's worse when they PM you because "you are a grand master and can help me best and quickly". It's worse for them anyway, when they do it to me..... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Neon.Krishna,
I am going to assume that you are not an MQ admin and that someone in your company just dumped this migration on you. The questions you ask are too basic to be answered in a forum like this.
A production migration is not a trivial task. It cannot be accomplished safely (if at all) by someone who does not have a significant amount of MQ experience. I advise you, with respect and kindness, to tell your company that they must engage some external resources to make this migration. Or, they must allow you at least six months of full-time MQ work where you are learning MQ basics and learning your environment.
Good luck to you.
