From what I can gather, this is not true in the MQ market-place.
Two years ago, I ran an ad with the following heading:

I hear you, Roger. I have frequently been shocked at the poor security I have found in MQSeries environments over the years. Most of it is caused by non-trained (in MQSeries) people administering MQ environments. It was bad enough when that type started developing MQSeries applications. Now, they've worked there way into admin roles. That's what happens when you turn the whole ball of wax over to the accountants!

I guess that's why the big 'push' for products like Datapower and it's capabilities for message level type security (as well as transport layer)...

Viewed the other way, businesses have traditionally underspent on security; so now they're catching up.
With Soxly, identity-theft, a variety of highly publicized ooooops by govt, banks, insurance companies let data get out of their hands, it's well past time to spend money on security. |
