I would like to know If there is a requirement of having a SAN device (Storage Area Network) in order to have MQ Clustering or MQ Clustering can be done without it.
I wanted to cluster it for having a High availability solution. |

WebSphere MQ Clustering, as decribed in the Clusters manual, is not a High Availability solution.
All normal platform HA technologies - HACMP, Veritas, MSCS, SteelEye, etc. - can be used with MQ.
WebSphere MQ in an HA configuration requires disk space that can be shared between two machines. This can be on a SAN, or not.
Not all SANs are appropriate to use with WebSphere MQ in an HA configuration. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

There are endless numbers of posts in here discussing why an MQ cluster is not the same as an HA cluster and why one should not be substituted for the other. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
