Hi all...

I have a strange problem.

Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 6.0.0.0
CMVC level: p000-L050519
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

$ uname -a
SunOS dev-db2 5.9 Generic_122300-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V440

Initial Scenerio:

We have an application called IWAY which sends shipping notifications to an AS-400 queue via..the unix qmanager (version 5.3).
There are some jobs associated with this queue, which handle other messages like the Retail, Contract, orders..etc..and each job is associated with a type of notification.( The Trigger for the Local queue is enabled).

Current Scenerio:

We introduced a new clustered queue manager of version 6.0 on our solaris servers.
The very first time we created a remote queue definition that points to the existing As-400 queue.
We checked the local queue attributes on the AS-400 queue, which shows the trigger is enabled.
When we send our 1st test messages, the trigger got disabled on the As-400 queue.
The application team always complained that they need to bounce there jobs for processing the messages on the AS-400 queue.
This was happening from many days...and Yesterday..when we enabled the trigger...everything is working fine.

Today I tried to re-create the same situation.
I created a new remote queue definition that points to the existing AS-400 queue..which has its trigger enabled. When I sent my 1st message...the trigger on the As-400 queue got disabled.

Can you let me know why the behaviour is like this..

Thanks,
Vijaya

What is the Trigger Type? First, Every or Depth? If its Depth, then its working as designed.

I suggest to upgrade to version 6.0.2.2. This is last update and it rights security problems.

I take the point about updates = good, but what's your thinking on this being a security problem?

Hi Vitor,

When I said "resolve security problems", perhaps that's not to be the best words, but I want to said, problems with SSL certificates.
Patch 6.0.2.2 resolves problems that 6.0.2.1 not resolves.

Still agreeing with you on that, still saying updates = good, still wondering what this has to do with the poster's triggering problem.

Or am I missing the very obvious here?

Ok. Vitor. You have the reason.
I was beat about the bush.

I'm relieved. I'm not having the best day here; a lot of sticks grasped firmly at the wrong end.......
