Hi guys,
Need your advice for design. This is the requirement:
Need to pick up the Idoc files from a folder & transfer it to the SAP system. There is NO transformation involved. Need to maintain the sequence for the Idoc files. (FIFO)
We are planning to use JText adapter to pick up the Idoc files, send it to the IntegrationServer (MB) & again pass it on to the WBI-SAP adapter using MQ-FIFO order. The SAP-adapter uses ALE module to communicate to the Server.
Questions:
1)Can the JText adapter be tuned to pick up the files in an order? From what I know, the JText picks the files using TimeStamp OR the file-names. So, what is the best technique to follow to preserve the order?
2) We also have the option to use WICS. Is it more advantageous to use WICS over Broker for this requirement?
3) There is no transformation involved in the Idoc content. So in first place, Is there really a need for an Integration-server(Broker/WICS) to be in the middle ? Instead, What wd be the easier approach for this requirement even if it is to eliminate Broker in the middle or any of the end connectors?
4) Is fixed-width Data-Handler better to use with JText? If so, will I have to be doing field-by-field mapping from JText fixed-width fields to the Output XML format of the SAP-adapter format.
Will it help if use the Blob Datahandler, considering the fact that I donot have to do any message transformation. Can I send the Blob, instead of XML to the WBI-SAP adapter?
Please help by sharing your thoughts..
Thanks in advance.

Consider NetWeaver if SAP products have "hegemonic" power in your project instead of MB/WICS. I think NetWeaver is more compatible within SAP world.
If you are keen on IBM products, consider WebSphere Transformation Extender for MB, which is a plug-in of MB and offers a large variety of adapters including ftp, SAP and just local file I/O adapters. However, remember this. Since WebSphere product portfolio is changeable, you may need to check the latest situation and contact IBM.
