Hello,
I tried to install WMB 6.0.0.1 and it's Toolkit (6.0.0.1 too) on a windows server 2003 Professional Edition SP2. First time, the install failed because at the end, the installer failed to check the license.
So i checked the install log, and figured out that rationaldsp.exe hadn't been able to execute. Because of the SP2 protection, the program was blocked, so i unchecked the option so that the program could execute at the end of the install.
Then i uninstalled WMB and WMBToolkit, and installed again. At the end of the Toolkit installation, i'm informed that the install failed again, so i checked the log file. I would like to know if i can rely on this install, because the error seems not severe for the integrity of the software (seems like the description page about new features couldn't been installed as said in the file ) or if it'd better install again, but with the risk to get the same error again.
Here is the content of the logs:

You could try just running Rational Product Updater, and seeing if it is able to successfully update the Toolkit that you've installed to v6.0.2.1...
You wouldn't necessarily see an "error" mentioned in the install log, you'd see likely a Java exception.
So you can try searching the big long error file for 'exception' or 'except'.
Of course, you can also open a PMR.
I'd try and completely separate the install and update of the Broker runtime from the install and update of the Toolkit - they really are separate products, and the success or failure of installing one has nothing to do with the success or failure of installing the other.
If it's only the Toolkit that failed the installation, there's no reason to uninstall runtime. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
