i see lots of discussions, but no real answer: can version 6 mq be installed on aix 32 bit? we had issues installing it, so SA switched it to 64 bit, we installed mq and apprently SA switched it back to 32. now we cannot run mq cmds. i've seen some posts suggesting it can and cannot be done..does anyone have a clear answer? I've tried to set/unset LIBPATH etc to /usr/mqm/lib.. but it made no diff....Apparently the applic needs it in 32 bit mode.

i've just enabled 64-bit appl environment to get rid of those errors..the questions is can MQ v6 be installed on 32-bit or does 64-bit have to be enabled? and what if appl needs it to be 32-bit?
thanks! |

your hardware needs to be 64-bit,
AIX can be 32-bit.
the problems you experience may be caused by installing in 64-bit and then switch to 32-bit. try installing in 32-bit from the start. _________________ Michael

Hi Michael.
I think we may be experiencing something similar since we upgraded from 5.3 to 6.
You say below "problems you experience may be caused by installing in 64-bit and then switch to 32-bit. try installing in 32-bit from the start."
Can you point me in the right direction to information on a) switching a current installation to 32 bit and b) intalling V6 in 32-bit from the start.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
