We have MQ 6.0.2 and WAS 5 (with the MQ 5.3 client). The WAS to MQ connection runs for a while and then stops.
While we are chasing this down, does anyone know if problems connecting WAS 5/MQ 5.3 client to an MQ 6 server? AFIK this should work.
Also, does anyone see a problem with updating the MQ 5.3 client to 6.0 for WAS 5? Also, I assume this should work.
(I'm on vacation so don't have all the details/resources but just wanted to know if anyone has seen problems in this area. Thanks)

Back after a long diversion. We are having a problem with the MQ 5.3 client built in to WAS5 talking to MQ6 server. It is intermittent and we'd like to use the MQ6 client.
Can anyone point me to instructions on upgrading the WAS5 MQ client?

Dean -
You should be able to uninstall the Extended Messaging or whatever it's called, and then install the regular MQ Client. Then you'll need to set MQ_INSTALL_LIB or whatever the WAS variable is.

| Not that I am any help on the install of the client, but we have noted problems with 5.3 client talking to MQ 6.X servers and we are pushing the point of making people upgrade the client. |
