Hi all,

Currently most of our adapters are located on the same server as the "adaptee". I'm talking mainly of JDBC Adapters sitting on their DBs' servers.

Now, I've heard of a certain policy of keeping a separate Adapter Server instead of distributing adapters like we currently have. No doubt there is the advantage of maintenance this way (updating much easier), but there also are the drawbacks of single point of failure and server resources.

What are the pros and cons besides the obvious ones? Which is the recommended/preferred method?
