Recently, if I show a QMGR in MQ Explorer more then once, only the first one I show appears in the navigation pane. I know that I've had more then one in the navigation pane before from testing different SVRCONNs with different access rules.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I see the other QMGRs in the "WebSphere MQ Explorer - content" pane and can connect to the QMGRs. It show the connection information too. If I could get the QMGR specific pane to pop up, that would be good enough for me.

For what it is worth, I think we should change the name Show/Hide QMGR to Catalog/Uncatalog QMGR.

Try resetting the perspective.

Jeff,

I see what you mean about it showing only the first one shown with a specific connection name. If I show the same QMGR using a CCDT, it appears in the list. This would also be true if I use the IP address.

Hmmm, that is strange behavior.

For the rest of the readers... JosephGramig and I had some offline conversations.

MQExplorer will only show queue managers, in the navigator view, that are identified "uniquely". What it uses to identify a qmgr is: for bindings, the qmgr name; for client connections, either the CONNAME portion of the connection (host(port)) or the name of the client channel table file.

So if you want to show more than one connection to the same qmgr, which is running on the same machine as MQ Explorer, you can use some combination of the following:
1) a single bindings connection
2) a single connection that is using "localhost" as the hostname
3) a single connection that is using "127.0.0.1" as the hostname
4) one connection for each unique IP address or hostname that the machine has
5) one connection for each uniquely named copy of a Client Channel table file
