Hi everyone!
This looks like an MQ configuration issue rather that a Workflow issue, but either way, I'm a bit stuck.
I have a standard environment that I'm working on. 4 AIX machines altogether. 2 running WebSphere AS (and MQ) 2 running Workflow (and MQ). MQ is clustered to allow either app server connect to either Workflow machine. Lovely.
But when one of the Workflow servers crashes, it seems that we are losing out on one side of our system. It appears that each Application Server has affinity with each Workflow server. So when one Workflow machine is gone, half of the environment is gone (application timeouts, etc).
Does anyone have any ideas? All cluster senders and receivers appears to be in place. |

Make sure the clustered queues have defbind(notfixed) in their setup.
Make sure the programmers did not use defbind(onopen) when they access the queues...

That's makes sense! Thanks fjb_saper!
I had a look at both App Server queue managers and all the queues have the Default Bind set to 'On Open'.
The only thing I noticed though, is that even then though each queue manager is part of the custer, all of the queues are set to 'Not Shared In Cluster'. I know this is a seperate question, but is this correct? |

Do you mean to say that the cluster and cluster namelist attributes of the queue are blank (spaces)? (runmqsc)
This would mean that there is no real load balancing and the cluster might just be there for admin purposes...(channels etc...).
I would not expect the queues on the app servers to be clustered as they act as requesters... However the queues on the workflow servers should be clustered. This would also remove the need for a remote queue on the appserver...

| Sorry about that. Yes, on the Workflow side there a load of clustered queues. I've changed the Default Bind to 'Not Fixed', so we'll see what happens now. Thanks again for your help! |
