Please tell me if anybody else has encountered the problem described below. If so is there any solution other than not using CLOB?

Problem: When we call a stored procedure that has CLOB as one of it's parameters from ESQL in a message flow, the execution group terminates. However, when the parameter type is changed to anything other than CLOB, the problem does not occur.

Configuration:
Noticed the problem on both Windows and Linux environments.

Windows environment
Broker Version - mqservice - v output
BIPv500 en GB
ucnv Console CCSID 850 dft ucnv CCSID 5348
OS cp1252 ICUW ibm-5348_P100-1997 ICUA ibm-5348_P100-1997

BIP8996I: Version: 500
BIP8997I: Product: WebSphere MQ Integrator
BIP8998I: CMVC Level: S500-CSD08
BIP8999I: Build Type: Production
OS - Windows XP Professional.

Linux environment
Broker Version - mqsiservice - v output
BIPv500 en US
ucnv Console CCSID 819 dft ucnv CCSID 819
OS ISO-8859-1 ICUW ISO-8859-1 ICUA ISO-8859-1

BIP8996I: Version: 500
BIP8997I: Product: WebSphere MQ Integrator
BIP8998I: CMVC Level: S500-CSD08
BIP8999I: Build Type: Production
BIP8071I: Successful command completion.

OS - Linux gbahel138.gb.tntpost.com 2.4.21-32.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri Apr 15 21:17:59 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

Oracle environment where the stored procedure resides
Oracle versions (broker and common systems) - 10.2.0.2.0

CLOB is not supported in V5

And v5 goes out of support in September.

So now you have *two* very good sound business reasons for upgrading to v6.
