I have a offer in UK as a websphere Consultant, I want to negotiate the salary with the employer...... I want to know how taxes are there in london and what is the good pay I should negotiate to have a comfortable life there.....
Tax rate will depend upon your income but expect to pay about 33%.
London is not a cheap place to live and work but you will have the advantage of being able to use public transportation and therefore not need a vehicle most of the time. On the up side London is a great place to live if you like theatre and the arts etc.
As for salary, well if you are going to be employed as an employee I would look for somewhere in the region of 50K G.B.P. If you are going to be your own company then you need to at least double that to account for taxes, National Insurance and indemity insurance.
I haven't lived in the UK for about 10 years so it may well have changed, but that is what I would be looking at if I were to move back.

I'd have agreed with that. £50K is bottom end for London unless you plan to live a fair way out and commute in (which can be done). But factor in fares if you're doing that. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
