Hello,
I know very little or nothing about mainframe/ IMS. But I have a requirement to trigger an IMS transaction through a java program. The application program for the transaction implements a security check where the information captured through IMS login screen will be used for validating the user. The 'user' value gets actually validated against a list of valid records in the IMS database.
When MQ message triggers the IMS transaction, it actually by-passes the IMS login screen, hence the program does not have the required data to validate the user resulting in a validation error.
Please let me know what are the essential things to be considered or the checklist to make sure we are proceeding in the right direction. Also, how do we handle this scenario of validating the user.
Also, please let me know if more clarity is required on this question.
Thanks, |

You shouldn't be looking to solve this problem at the IMS level, or the Java level.
You need to examine this at the business requirements level.
It may be that you can configure things such that the IMS program won't care that it doesn't have a logged in user right now.
It may be that you can't configure things that way. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Thank you so much..
But I have come across so many resources discussing about the security aspect while trigerring IMS. I have been given references to various sections in 'WebSphere MQ for z/OS System Setup Guide'.
What is being refered to in these documents? Is there anyway I can set as MQMD.UserId field or MQIIH header fields to workaround this issue? |
