Could anyone give me a rough indication of how long an MQ cluster should take to "get itself organised"?
I'm trying to create an MQ 6.0 cluster in a "big bang", by creating 6 QM's and running MQSC scripts to set them all up. QM1 and QM2 are full repositories, and the other 4 QMs all have their cluster sender chnnels pointed at QM1.
I was expecting it to take one or two minutes for the cluster to organise itself and all the outlying QMs to appear in MQ Explorer.
In fact, it took several hours, and in the meantime I got a lot of Windows Event Log "9558" messages complaining about problems communicationg with QM1. Is this reasonably normal, or does it suggest that I need to fix something?

IIRC the default refresh for a cluster is 15 minutes so that's the longest it should take, assuming for some bizzare reason adding a new QM didn't immediately trigger an update as it should.
I'd worry about communication problems. They're never normal. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
