What happens when you try and use the v5.3 client? Can't speak for iSeries but using a v5.3 client to connect to v6 works in my world (which I repeat does not include iSeries!) _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I think from a design perspective you'd be fairly safe saying that client connectivity from an iSeries is supported in v6. Given that it's supported in v5.3 - you'd think a nugget of information like "client support for iSeries has been withdrawn in v6" would have been publicised!
But what do I know? Am I connected to IBM & their client support strategy? No. Do I have knowledge of your design process and strictures? No. You must therefore do what you feel is best.
For what it's worth, I can't find a v6 client for iSeries either. Just the v5.3 on the IBM site. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I do take your point and please don't feel I'm belittling your concerns.
With luck, a passing IBMer will offer a more authoratitive position. Or you could pass the question to your IBM rep. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
