We are looking for 2-3 WebSphere Message Broker Consultants to join our team. We are based in Swindon (UK) however travel to client sites around the UK is essential. We are able to sponsor a visa if required, but as per last posting would prefer someone UK based for timeliness.
In addition to the role and technical skills below, candidates need to be clear communicators with confident personalities.
Role
• Take customer project requirements and objectives and translate into design and development requirements for all relevant Hub components – i.e. to be able to communicate estimates, impact and any potential risks.
• Develop WMB message flows and message sets, configure WMQ and gateways / adapters according to customer requirements and deadlines and in line with strategic design principles and development standards.
• Support Alphacourt/customer project testing schedule and to provide appropriate handover and documentation to either customer or Alphacourt support teams/consultant.
Technical Skills
We are looking to see a strong and continuous track record using these skills and possibly their predecessor versions.
• Recent and strong WMQ and WMB (v5+) development skills.
• WebSphere MQ v5.3/V6
• Java (pref J2EE) XML, ESQL, C/C++ (one or more of these)
• Distributed platforms (Linux an advantage)
• Strong understanding of messaging practices, principles and standards.
• Strong problem determination and problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to assess priorities and to adapt to rapidly changing and diverse drivers.
• Logical and physical integration design skills.
• Experience of QPasa! (or similar) Hub system management tools useful.
• Ability to describe complex situations in simple terms, taking into consideration the audience.
