I've tried setting the CCSID on the MF to 500 and 819 on Unix. I'm getting a 2019 on the get call. I am having trouble understanding the MQMD-encoding, what should the value be for this variable? The samples in the Support Pac MA07 white paper on data conversion appears be if the queue manage/channel is doing the conversion on one end or the other (with the proper options). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

2019 is NOT a character conversion issue.
