I am facing a problem with some of the clients trying to connect to the MQ Server.
The clients connect to the server with the channel Tab. They do have the proper tab settings. all along the users can connect properly but around one pm some of the users are unable to connect to the server. I checked the MQ logs and the port which they are trying to connect suddenly has issues. This continues for 3 miinutes, and after that everything works fine after that. This happens many times(1 time a day..not everyday) and around the same time.. Some TCPIP errors are seen but I am not clear as to what is to be doen to resolve teh same.
Please suggest as to what I should try to get to the base of the problem.
Thanks. |

Routinely re-occuring issues suggest that an automated process - perhaps backups - is causing problems.
Regardless, in the case of clearly networking issues - you should start with the networking team and ask them to look into things like high utilization at 1 pm or maintenance windows or etc. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Jeff,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The problem seen in the MQ logs suggests a TCP RST sent to Queue manager. It does seem to be network related issue, any pointers on how we could track the same.....
I can be sitting on teh server when teh issue occurs...is there any means for me to check out what could be teh reason for this issue?
I do check teh BMC percieve charts next day, it shows surge in network traffic on teh server, but we dont have a bacth job on th server. Could any backup happening outside teh server on teh network be affecting the same??
Thanks. |

It sounds like it's an issue with the network rather than your server. So ask the network team - show them the data you've already gathered, and see if they know what's going on. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
