We are using MQ Version 6.0.2.1 on windows server 2003. There is one queue manager on the server and an application connects to the queues on the queue manager and reads messages from it.
The queue manager was coming down quite often and quite a few FDC's were getting generated. What I noticed was that there were hundreds of amqzlaa0 processed runnning on the server. There are less than 20 queues on the server and it makes me to wonder why so many amqzlaa0 processes may be running.
Can someone please help me in understanding what the amqzlaa0 process is and is the problem I am talking about because of MQ or an external application connecting to MQ?

Thanks for any help.
