Hello,

In my organization, we are building an ESB using Message Broker that connects multiple systems using MQ.
For some services, we need to extract data from our legacy systems in the form of files that are generated into a folder residing on the legacy system. We do plan on transforming the generated data files using message broker. However, we need to move these files from their remote machine location into the message broker machine and then load them up into message broker for transformation and routing.

Can someone suggest the best approach to do that without having to write any code on the legacy systems? (there is shortage of skilled people to write code on the old systems)
We thought of using PM4Data to move the files from the legacy system, however, can PM4Data move files from folder into queue? or vice versa?

I appreciate your help.

Regards,
Jnoubi

Short answer - yes.

Long answer - ask the vendor (who will say yes in a more authoriative way).

Short answer, you set the destination to a queue rather than a file url.

It usually needs to be a local queue, though.

the queue can also be a remote q definition... and if you're using PM4Data/MQ client - it can be a queue manager on another system.

The last time I tried to use PM4Data to write to a QREMOTE, it wanted to open the queue for input as well as output.

I'm sure I was doing something wrong.
