I have setup a cluster of three computers. Two of the computers have a shared cluster queue. A remote application must retrieve messages from the shared cluster queues. This remote app. must not be on the same machines as the shared cluster queues. Since mqgets on shared cluster queues are impossible, the remote app. must be hard coded to visit each queue manager that contains the cluster queue (as local queues). Is there any setup to the cluster design so I can avoid having to hard code the application with mqgets to specific queue managers and queue? Hard code would produce future scalability problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

Could you shed some light on why the system needs to behave this way? It seems to me there must be some other way to architect this such that the remote application only needs to connect to one queue manager to retrieve the messages it needs. Otherwise I would recommend using a naming convention for your queue managers/queues such that their names can be calculated rather than hardcoded... _________________ Brandon Duncan
