Hi,

Am I right in thinking sequence numbers don't matter for a channel ping?

If my sequence numbers don't agree the channel should still ping right?

This has been my experience in the past. You can ping all you want, but it will not involve any message sequence number checking. When the first (user) message goes across, that's when the message sequence number checking is done. It would have been more convenient if the ping also included a message sequence check. This way you can make your corrections without having either the application or you send a message.
