I have a problem. I had to bounce a MQ server for some reasons. I did that logging as a remote desktop user. I stop queue manager and started again. When I came out, I got a complaint that the app folks got a error mesage saying QMGR is not running/not available.
While I cheked, I saw the queue manager was ended. I logged in again and started the queue manager. When I checked the windows services, I saw MQ process runniing under my id.
The queue manager was created by previous guy. Although, the server where the mq was installed is in windwos doamin, I am not sure how it was installed. But in either case, whether it was installed on domain giging a domain user to run it or local, the mq should not start under my id because I just stop and restarted. As I understand, we can change the user mq runs, but it is not automatically.
Can any one give me some insight? I know I need to change the user mq and which I was planning actually. The windows admin just created domain user to run mq on all the boxes and I was planning to go and change it. But I am curious only how that could happen.
I will really apprecaite your response |

1.is The mq listener is running fine.
2.Can u check in mq error logs why queue manage is ended all of a sudden?
As u mention above. It would be better, u create an id like mqm ..and create a group called mq grp...then mqm user id part of mq group..read some mq docs for window production installtaion..and make sure that specific id can start and stop queue manager... _________________ Jain Varghese |

In windows if you start the queue manager from the command line it will start under your user ID.
You must either start the queue manager from MQ Explorer or use the MQ command amqmdain at the command prompt.
Make sure MQ is running under a user in the MQM group by checking in dcomcnfg or running the Prepare MQ Wizard |
