Hi all,
Not able to find out anywhere whether Broker 6 will be okay to use DB2 v9 for its database.
Could not find anything on IBM or Google.
I'm pretty sure its okay but i dont want to order it till i'm certain.
Can anyone here help? |

You didn;t say which platform you wanted to run this combination on?
However,
I have run DB2 V9(FP1) and WBI V6.0.0.3 on Centos 4 and Server 2003 without many problems (mostly down to not reading the installation docs)
As the database access is via ODBC the difference between V8 & 9 are minimised especially as the ODBC driver on some platforms is suppled with the WBI Product.
Disclaimer
This is not supported by IBM until they update the pre-requisite docs on their website. You could get an official answer by raising a PMR
So, I would not put this into production until support is official. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Apologies,

We'll i like the compression feature in DB2 9 so i think we will order it. Will test if first off course. |

Actually, the system requirements have been updated to show support for D B2 v9.1 on several platforms, with the caveat that neither XA nor JDBC are supported. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Hey Jeff
Have you tried using a V9 Client to connect to a remote V9 server? I am wondering what drivers to use in ODBC and ODBC64. i tried using libdb2.a from both V8 and V9 instances after i sourced the V9 Client profile but neither of them worked. i assumed that libdb2Wrapper64.so was the 64 bit driver (so didnt have to change ODBC64).
Also appended the v9 lib32 to the LIBPATH as well as lib64 on MQSI_LIBPATH64 but the 64bit execution groups dont start. They start fine when i source the v8 client(64bit) to talk to the V9 server(which is also 64bit).
All this is in AIX. |

Was that a response to my question? Thanks for trying but please post if the config i posted is applicable to something that you have been successful with.
There are many prereqs that take time to be updated on the IBM Support Site and this might be one of them. That webpage is for windows ( i looked the relevant AIX page before posting anyways). For example WebSphere MQ 6.0.2 took some time to be updated on that page but it has always worked. |
