After many test, i found that is useful to increase the max nuber of semaphores in kernel parms.

(http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-7.2-Manual/ref-guide/s1-proc-sysctl.html)

now my settings are

kernel.sem=250 64000 32 1024

and all now works, without messages like "semaphores are busy"

Hope this can help someone

I don't have the MQ Linux Quick Beginnings manual handy, does anyone happen to know if it has a section on increasing kernel parameters much like the Quick Beginnings for Solaris does?
I've never had a problem running MQSeries on a vanilla redhat system, whereas I always run into trouble on Solaris unless I tweak the kernel parameters. Then again, I've never run the Linux queue manager under heavy load...

my linux box has 16 Qmanagers and 8 Lotus Domino instances together.

The kernel settings of the Quick beginning is not set for high load environments.

Now i've seen that after 15-20 days my qmanagers start to freeze without leaving any message in the error logs...

have a nice w/e

Ale

16 QMGRS seem like alot to me. In my current position, and in my previous one, we were working towards one QMGR per server and creating new sets of MQ objects for each new project/business that needed MQ. Might be a neat test for you to consolidate into one QMGR and see if you still see problems.
