It seems an undocumented "feature" is that /usr/mqm/java/bin/JMSAdmin.config gets overwritten - particularly the INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY setting. My understanding is that it doesn't seem to affect applications (as they set this somewhere else), only somebody trying to administer JMS - am I correct? |

It seems not - apparently this gets at fixed at CSD13, but we've settled on this release (with more than a thousand queue managers we have to stick to one release and go for it).
But it doesn't seem to affecting applications so, with my limited knowledge of JMS, is it because it is only JMSAdmin looks at this config file? |

We usually change it to accommodate the need we have when building the context or .bindings file.
I don't believe it gets overwritten but possibly by the upgrade itself. So it is a one shot deal. All you have to do is really comment out the initial context factory you want to use and comment the others...
Any actual config file should be fed to the JMSAdmin process and not be appended to the config file....
