Hi,

I 'm using a IBM MQ/Message broker platform, and a need a solution to be able to get files from a file share / or and FTP site and to put there in a message queue in MQ/MB. I have heard about WebSphere Adapters like:
• WebSphere Adapter for Flat Files V6.0.2
• WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for JText V5.6
• WebSphere Business Integration Adapter Framework V2.6
• WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for WebSphere Business Integration Message Broker, version 2.8.0
• WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for WebSphere MQ

but I'm not sure witch one do I need to the propose( get file from a server and put them in MQ/MB queue). Witch one should I use ?

What's the difference between WebSphere Adapter for Flat Files and WebSphere Business Integration Adapter ?

Since I only have MQ/MB do I need to buy any other product like to reach my prupose ?

• IBM WebSphere Process Server, version 6.0, with IBM WebSphere
• Integration Developer, version 6.0
• IBM WebSphere InterChange Server, version 4.2.2 or 4.3
• IBM WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker, version 2.1 CSD07
• IBM WebSphere Business Integration

Thanks a lot for your help.
Best regards

Hi,

I'm not an expert but I believe WMQI can consume a file and put it to a queue.

If you simply need to script or automate putting of a file to a queue then you should have a look at MQ Batch Toolkit:

If you only have the MessageBroker you probably want WebSphere Adapter for Flat Files V6.0.2 (ex FileExtender?)

This will allow you to prototype your file content and separate the file into as many messages as needed per your prototype.

Remember all those products come at an extra cost. Talk to your IBM Rep.

Finally sometimes it is easier (or cheaper) to have a homegrown app putting the file to the queue...

Enjoy

You'd need to purchase the Message Broker File Extender to directly access files in WMB v6.

It won't do FTP, as I understand it.
