I read this from an old article in developer site.
Quote: |
MQ includes JMS interface, but not the JNDI interface. To add support for JNDI to WebSphere MQ, you need to install support pac ME01 (WebSphere MQ Initial Context), which in turn requires support pac MS0B
|
Does this hold true yet?
Thanks a lot |

Hm,
In my opinion no.
I can in easy way implement "file JNDI" using JMSAdmin and JMS API. _________________ Marcin |

I think that support pack has sort of been rolled into the product.
I also ... question it's utility. What it does is treats your queue manager as a JNDI directory - so you get queue names by using... the real queue name... instead of a symbolic name like "jms/MyApplicationProccessingQueue". _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

Up to 6.0 you did need to run with this support pack to support JNDI. Not sure about 6.0+.
I believe it is a normal (like any other) JNDI environment, it will create a queue label with the same name as the actual queue by default but you can create the label how you see fit. For topics you must configure the JNDI object, no default is provided because WebSphereMQ doesn't really know what topics you want.
If you don't want to use a file based JNDI environment and you don't have an LDAP, you may want to consider this. |

I beg to differ. The file based JNDI works fine. And it gives you a lot more information on the creation of Topics...
