Hello,

hopefully someone can help me. I have to migrate our server (MQ 7.0.1 on Windows 2003) to Windows 2008 (MQ 7.0.1) . When i copy the licence-file "amqpcert.lic" to the new MQ Server, i can't start a Queue-Manager because the Manager don't accept this file.
About answers I would be happy

Regards
RaSi

It would help if you posted the exact error you received. Also, look in the AMQERR01.LOG for any related information.

Did you also copy the registry?
I would advise you not to copy the program but reinstall it.
You can then copy all the data folders.
Hope this helps...

OH and BEWARE of having the same qmgr name twice in your network.
BAD things your way come with this configuration. A certainty this is.
you must. :yoda:

As this is a new server / installation, I would suggest you go to version 7.5 at least or event 8.0.0.4. And please don't migrate to MS server 2008 which is already obsolete. Migrate to MS server 2012.

Have fun

Hello, first I'd like to thank you for your help .
I solved the problem:
- deinstall MQSeries
- i put the licence file "amqpcert.lic" into the installation folder "../Licenses (befor, i removed the file "amqtcert.lic")

After new installation, the Licence File was stored in the bin-directory and it works fine.

Perhaps you were trying to start with a FixPack installer, rather than a RefreshPack or otherwise full release installer.
