It's the repository for the config manager on those 2 platforms.

You'll find a more helpful description in the WMBv6 documentation.

You've been advised before to spend a liitle more time researching the product. You're still asking very basic questions.

The repository contains information on the domain and is in an internal format. It can be backed up using mqsibackupconfigmgr and restored using mqsirestoreconfigmgr.
What more information do you really need?
