What properties are you trying to set? Are these properties of the compute node, or other nodes in the flow? Have you considered other options for setting properties at deploy time provided by the product to see if they meet your need, or must these properties be changed at run time? What business need does this fulfil?

Because what you're apparently setting out to do can be tricky.
