Hello,

I have a trial version of MQ v5.3 already installed on my Windows XP machine. My company has recently aquired partnership with IBM and hence I can now download MQ v6.

Can I install the newer version on the same machine with the older version present? Do I need to uninstall the previous version?

MQ v5.3 and MQ v6 can not present together on the same machine.


You have 2 options:

1. Uninstall MQ v5.3 , install MQ v6
2. Migrate from MQ v5.3 to MQ v6
