I am new to MQ Series. Does anyone have suggestions regarding queue naming conventions? I can come up with one but perhaps someone has discovered something I can benefit from, in this regard.
Thanks. |

About naming conventions and so on, take a look on IBM's proposal:

It might help you.., there are a lot of religion in naming conventions, I guess there are not only one solution that will cover all companies ...
I will emphesize two things, use uppercase only, and use '.' as seperator due to minimize the problems implementing security in various systems, and no other special characters.

I agree with Jorgen. I would also add:
- on SDR channels, FROMQMGR.to.RECEIVINGQMGR
- same logic for RCVR channels
- XMIT to be called the name of the QMGR it's going to.
- Queues: AppID.label.label.label
