I stopped all the queue managers and listeners. When I use rpm -q -a | grep MQ it shows installed packages but when I give rpm -e package name it gives me an error.

]$ rpm -q -a | grep MQ
MQSeriesKeyMan-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSDK-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesRuntime-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesSamples-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesClient-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesServer-6.0.0-0
MQSeriesJava-6.0.0-0

[mqm@]$ rpm -e MQSeriesSamples-6.0.0-0
error: can't create transaction lock

]$ rpm -e MQSeriesSamples
error: can't create transaction lock




Any suggestion/help would be appreciated.

I got it fixed.

I needed to delete a file under /var/lock.
