i am using wbimb ver 5 windows with CSD 7 + odbc driver MQSeries datadirect 4.10 32bit for oracle8 ver 4.10.00.68 with all parameter enabled + MQ ver tried 5.3 with csd 8 as well as ver 6. whenever there is inout parameter in oracle sp I get the error either string length not matching or not matching of reference parameter But it works fine when i am using broker in unix box.Can any body give me solution for the same.we are not yet upgraded to broker ver 6.0.

I continuation to above i have tested a test procedure with in and inout parameter.Once the broker is restarted and tested it worked fine. The second time it failed with the following error message.any help is highly appreciated.

from debug log:

DatabaseException BIP2321E: Database error: ODBC return code '-1'.
The message broker encountered an error whilst executing a database operation. The ODBC return code was '-1'. See the following messages for information obtained from the database pertaining to this error.
Use the following messages to determine the cause of the error. This is likely to be such things as incorrect datasource or table names. Then correct either the database or message broker configuration.
2007-04-10 11:57:43.676223 4876 DatabaseException BIP2322E: Database error: SQL State 'HY000'; Native Error Code '1459'; Error Text '[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver][Oracle]ORA-01459: invalid length for variable character string '.
The error has the following diagnostic information: SQL State 'HY000' SQL Native Error Code '1459' SQL Error Text '[DataDirect][ODBC Oracle driver][Oracle]ORA-01459: invalid length for variable character string '
This message may be accompanied by other messages describing the effect on the message broker itself. Use the reason identified in this message with the accompanying messages to determine the cause of the error.
2007-04-10 11:57:44.676555 4876 Error BIP2648E: Message backed out to a queue; node 'test_req.MQInput'

Hi,

I do vagely remember this being a problem at some point in V5. I suggest you try the latest fixpac or raise a PMR (or both)
