What is the purpose of having domain mqm? Is it to create a trust between different computers on the same or different domain?

I'm not sure what you mean when you say "mqm domain". Are you refering to the mqm user/group on unix, or something on windows?

domain mqm needs to be created in win2k domain controllers to provide access for MQ authentication. The group allows its containing accounts access to read permissions in the domain SAM.

the permissions need to be set manually, these don't automatically apply.

more information about windows 2000 permissions is in the system admin guide, pages 130 - 134.
